Observing addictions

Grateful for:

  1. Spending 2 hours in the bath and then another  3 hours in the kitchen… I love my quiet weekdays. I now have things sprouting, brewing and dehydrating all over the place again and the kitchen is alive!
  2. My new cook book is proving the most engaging read ever.
  3. Making the longest shopping list, pretty excited about my next trip to the markets.
  4. Dealing with 2 days worth of emails.
  5. Staying on top of my daily meditation and daily to do lists, so far so good, would even say great!
  6. Noticing people withdrawal symptoms. They are addictive like all good things in life I guess. Persisting with choosing to stay home and not escape into someone’s company. Self observation and analysis is a pretty powerful addiction in its own right.
  7. Enjoying my zen space.
  8. Finally putting to use my tea light teapot warmer I bought recently. Hot tea all day long from now on Halleluja!!!
  9. Making my first recipe from the new cook book – raw marinated vegetables. Great way to prepare some that is not like a salad.
  10. Also making raw apple porridge and choc chia seed pudding. I so love to be home and cook my weird and wonderful foods.
  11. Having a new guest in the house for the next 10 days. Another person to cook for and swap recipes with – Hooray!
  12. Recognising a definite fish addiction – in the absence of the usual salmon I craved and ate a whole can of Russian style sardines. I wonder what it means.
  13. Enjoying evenings by candle light every night.
  14. Unpacking several ebay purchases that came in while I was away… and making 2 new ones. Hmmmm… I think I have just spotted another addiction.
  15. Does having about 3 litres of green tea count as an addiction? How about cooking for several hours in a row?
  16. Realising that some of my most powerful introspections happen through having imaginary conversations in my head. Now I have a reason to let my daydreams run wild as they do.
  17. Easily coming up with 15+ items to be grateful for lately. Is that a reflection on the increasing quality of life, strengthened gratitude muscle or general chattiness?
