Grateful for:
- Going across town to a place that makes and serves its own soba noodles just to find out that it is the same company as the shop we had soba at yesterday. Oh well, can’t have too much of a good thing.
- Checking out Halo Galo Cafe. With its relaxed vibe and homey atmosphere it is a definite winner for us and is a likely contender to replace Starbucks as our after hours hang out place.
- Dying for some reading in the last few days and being rewarded with a couple of hours with a VERY good book Getting To Where You Are So far it has done a great job of dispelling the whole “spirituality” movement and posed some good questions.
- Catching up with Facebook, reading all my Birthday wishes and reply to a few comments. Even having a couple of quick chats with people, always great to reconnect with someone after a long time away.
- Being another book on sumi-e that is promising a whole new approach and a much more detailed instruction.
- Researching cast iron tea pots to make an informed purchase to feed my tea passion. In short the ones for brewing tea must have glazed inside, the ones without grazing are only good for boiling water.
- Pondering the amount of time I spend on the Internet and how it fits with my overall lifestyle. It feels that I spend excessive amounts of time there with nothing to show for it really but no matter which area I try to trimĀ everything seems necessary, I guess it is a bit like making a budget but with time – a new challenge for me.
- Finding a social network for tea lovers at http://www.steepster.com I should get stuck into it and probably transfer my tea tasting journal there, but will that add another thing to do on the Internet that does not achieve any particular purpose? Oh decisions, decisions…
- Updating my business balance spreadsheet. Nice to run a business where balance sheet takes 5 minutes a month to update!
- Implementing and maintaining a dynamic to do list on my phone that collects everything that pops into my head during the day allowing me to empty my mind of all these niggling things “to remember”. Also happy that the to do items actually get executed on a daily basis.
