Grateful for:
- Going to Nijo Castle. After I almost ingnored it because it is right in the middle of Kyoto hence it must be super touristy and overused, it turned out to be quite a gem! The castle itself is a formidable construction with the best of Japan’s austere interiors and the garden around the castle, we both agreed, was probably one of the best we have seen. The shoguns of the time definitely had great taste.
- Taking pictures of a big gray bird in the Nijo Castle’s gardens. I swear it must have been planted there as it never moved once but looked so amazingly picturesque on the island in the pond it was begging to be photographed.
- Finally visiting Mlesna Tea House that I was meaning to see. I was rewarded with one of my best tea moments in Japan yet! I even cried. It was a beautiful Snowy Apple Pie tea that smelled so nice and tasted absolutely delicious. I bought 2 boxes of 16 sample teas each to continue my taste exploration at home. As it stands Mlesna for now is my favorite brand, T2 has nothing on it.
- Trying out a new restaurant around the markets and having lots of fresh salads, tofu and salmon sashimi.
- Getting around on foot today, must have covered at least 10 km. One of the things I love about traveling is that it comes with the exercise built in, no special motivational self talk required.
- Buying a nice 100% wool dress for only $9 on super special, a great find!
- Watching another Band of Brothers episode. It is really amazing, I am even thinking once we finish it, just restart watching from episode 1 again.
- Having an aloe vera yogurt while watching a movie. Japan, the land of weird and wonderful foods.
- Hiring a day time developer to replace me, making my 0-hour-work-week dream a reality.
- Having an excellent relaxed weekend, ready for another week of more of the same.
