Did pretty much nothing but walk around the malls the for last two days, kind of growing on us. I guess instead of bemoaning the fumes, the noisiness and craziness of Bangkok we decided to embrace what the city truly has to offer and went window shopping and movie watching. After all the comforts of big city is not something that is readily available back in Vila. Saw Scar 3D and Quantum Solace. Managed to participate in a power failure drill (or reality) when this largest Bangkok mall was peacefully evacuated, all the sellers leaving their products and counters behind and running for the parking lot. Since it was simply a “power failure in one of the zones” and nothing major there was no panic but looked pretty funny still. Also saw a live music fest on their Central Square which was fun to see, looks like when it comes to partying, festivals and music the world is the experience is the same wherever you go: food, beer and young people.
Not much else to say, really looking forward to leaving the city behind and hitting the provincial SE Asia. Tomorrow we are off to a full day floating markets and Tiger Monastery tour, which is pretty exciting as I never got to pat and take a picture with a tiger before.
