Love of pretty things

Even though nothing much has been happening these 2 days I still have plenty to be grateful for:

  1. Buying a cast iron tea pot with myself. I am so totally in love with it and already had 2 teapots full tonight.
  2. Going to Kiyomizudera, one of the prettiest Kyoto temples to watch a spectacular sunset, not as spectacular as Vanuatu of course, nothing ever will be, but in the true Japanese style very subtly beautiful.
  3. Having zaru-soba for dinner. The chef smiled at my feeble attempts at “zaru soba setto” but was pleased nevertheless and miraculously we got what we wanted!
  4. Emptied my inbox again today! Horray!
  5. Set up my 43things goals list right next to my inbox on Gmail. It took a couple of hours of work and some ingenious programming but anything is worth it when it brings me closer to my achieving my goals. Now I can practice looking at them first thing in the morning and last thing before going to bed and all day long, since that is how often I check my inbox.
  6. Having very interesting herbal teas in the Sunshine Cafe at the markets today. Seems like you can through anything together, stick a label on it and sell it. I shall try that sometimes.
  7. Getting some time to read today at Starbucks.
  8. Deviating from the norm and trying White Chocolate Mocha, behind the fancy name nothing but overly sweet coffee – not recommended.
  9. Using Facebook daily now to keep in touch.
  10. Picking up the last copy of  Kyoto Visitor Guide at Sunshine Cafe so we can plan the remainder of our stay.
