Grateful for
- Have seen our first temple light up today and it is probably the most grandiose one of them all. All of the temple grounds and temples have special lights installed that make them pop out of the darkness and the gradens and paths feel like in a fairy tale. This beats any large scale Christmas lights installation anywhere hands down since it feels both natural and magical at the same time.
- Finally catching up (almost) on all my work.
- Weekend is here! Time to sleep in, read and draw since visiting any sights is simply impossible because of hoards of Japanese day trippers everywhere.
- Reading and replying to all my personal emails and birthday wishes.
- Updating my blog and incorporating “images taken today” feature into each page.
- Learning to draw simple animal figures today a-la-comic style.
- Revisiting a sushi place in Gion that for us is the best sushi we had to date for another mouth watering feast.
- Finally finding a tea pot I would like to buy and take home. Cast iron goodness.
- Discovering just how great my new art program is on my new UMPC – I can choose paper type, brush and pencil type, even squeeze out some paint on paper and smudge it and blend it – all on a small computer screen I always carry with me. Can’t wait to actually develop some talent to go with it.
- Taking lots of portrait shots in an effort to discover “my” pose. Results are yet to be seen.
