- Grateful for a glimpse of Socialist country – that is how USSR must have been like back in the day – propaganda posters everywhere, morality police abolishing entertainment venues, everyone walking in the parks playing badminton for fun… Even a statue of Lenin just around the corner!
- Grateful for a haircut I got yesterday – it is difficult enough to explain to English speaking hairdressers how I want my hair cut, let alone foreign ones. So I just let them do whatever and the result isn’t too bad.
- Grateful for the super fast Internet connection! Makes working, blogging and photo uploading so much faster.
- Grateful for being able to work and travel at the same time, which means, unlike many other long term travellers who need to save in order to travel, I can just travel indefinitely as long as I desire.
- Grateful for the free tourist guides available in all areas we visited so far – without them we wouldn’t know where to go and what to see every day.
- Grateful for the colourful street life of Hanoi which is it’s main attraction for me and makes each day walking around a new and exiting experience.
- Grateful for the low cost of life in SE Asia countries which enables us to live rather comfortably “on the road”.
- Grateful for the most hospitable hosts we had to date in the Hanoi Street Hotel – the always offer us extra fruit, green tea from their own teapot and cookies when we come down for breakfast, like we aren’t just hotel’s guests, but their personal guests.
- Grateful for finding time to read every day. The more I read the more I want to read, it seems to be an unquenchable thirst.
- Grateful for slowly mastering the art of photography and taking lots of interesting and memorable shots while on the road which is the best way to keep the trip and experiences alive in our memory for years to come.
