Today went on a great tour of the floating village in the main like of SE Asia Tonle Sap. A whole community of 1100 families living in floating houses, going to floating shops and schools and churches that move up and down the lake during the various seasons depending on the water level depth, usually for up to 5 kilometres. The life is VERY different there to the western way of life to say the least, people go around on boats, houses are no larger than tiny boats, some set above mini fish farms. Crocodile farming is also popular and even saw one floating pig sty.
Overall the feelings are of much gratitude for our western comforts and way of life and an expanded awareness and appreciation of the multitude of other ways of life.
Tomorrow we’re off to Vietnam (Hanoi) woo hoo!
