Cafe poem

People, voices, Music, noises
Sitting in public
The ultimate form of aloneness
Two coffees later
Focused inside
Ideas keep flowing
Urged to the surface of the mind
By the caffeine in the veins and in the air
Background hum
Makes internal voices clearer
At last I can hear myself think
While others can barely hear themselves talk
Drowning in action
All around me
While standing still inside
The place full of distractions
Is my ultimate sanctuary
Escape from the place called “home”
So full of unimportant things to do
Can this be the reason for endless wandering?
Forever escaping the necessities of life
Escaping to continents across the ocean
Like others escape to cafes down the street
